The Horace Caldwell Pier breaks the horizon in Port Aransas during this predawn long exposure. When I first setup and made this photograph I did not notice the beer bottles and litter on the ground. For me the pier and the litter represent opposite ends of mans ability to simultaneously enhance nature and to take her for granted.
